Application Of Computation Methods In Industrial Transportation

Completed calendar_month 2014 group 3 Students

descriptionProject Overview

The transport industry is very crucial for any economy, it being the backbone under which all economies thrive. Industrial transportation involves a lot of computational methods to reduce the workload and enhance accuracy. These computational methods are widely applied for various purposes which could include in making decisions on what order to follow when transporting various materials as well as in the design of the vessels used in this subsector. Industrial transportation is a very complicated sector; a lot of decisions need to be made on a daily basis. How then do you ensure consistency given the fact that the personnel making this decisions could change any time? In delivery services, how do you decide on what to deliver first and how to do it? Marine transportation for example is usually characterized by heavy traffic especially at the docks where there are many vessels waiting at the gate, how then can this be dealt with?
