Timothy Kamanu
Lecturer · Statistics & Computing Unit, University of NairobiA lecturer at the Statistics and Computing Unit of the School of Mathematics, University of Nairobi, with broad interests in the application of Statistics and Mathematics to solutions of real-world problems.
Dr. Kamanu believes mathematical and statistical techniques are "most useful" when implemented through computation and simulation — making the beauty of these disciplines accessible beyond the specialist to the general public. DASCLAB was founded to demystify mathematics through the works of students and the computation group.
With broad experience in computation, experimental design, and data analysis across structured and unstructured data (text, audio, audio-visual streams), high-throughput genomic and proteomic studies (microarray, ChIP-seq, CGH, mass spectra), and proficiency in C, R, MATLAB, Python and Perl.
