Analysis Using R As A Visualization Tool For The Health Data From Dhis Kakamega County From The Year 2013-2017
Health cases mostly on diseases and mortality rates among pregnant women, mothers, infants and children under 5 years of age have been a subject of interest due to the challenges faced in handling them.
Using R programming language, a free to use software environment used widely for statistical analysis and for graphical visualization, we have been able to create visualization of the specified health cases based on two DHIS data from Kakamega County to observe trends as well as draw conclusions. We hope to use the trends observed, factors that are recurrent and conclusions made to advise the key players in the health sector within Kakamega County on how to come up with better measures of improving the health services. The package commonly used for visualization within this project are: ggplot2..
The DHIS data trend has shown the efforts by the county government to control the health cases by implementing various policies.
