Analysis Of Maternal And Infant Mortality And Disease Prevalence In Tana River County Based On Data From District Health Information System
This document offers a user documentation review of District Health Informa- tion System. To reach development goals for health improvement by Kenya, it is important to develop instruments for monitoring health status and that is the DHIS. In our documentation we are going to focus on the implementation of the information systems in Tana River County. This article consists of a non- participant observation whereby we used data obtained from DHIS.The aim was to understand the commonness of diseases in the area and to analyse maternal and infant mortality rates.We used R programming to visualize the data and analyze the trends of the health statistical data in Tana River County. From the analysis, we found out that water borne disease cases and TB cases were very high in the county.Moreover,the number of neonatal deaths were high. From our data, future prospects would be strategic plan to prevention of diseases and setting up of more health centres for treatment of patients.Communities in the area should also be sensitized on the importance of ANC and PNC care for bet- ter health of the baby and mother.With these,health care in the county would be greatly improved.
