Application Of Computational Methods In Industrial Engineering
This study will investigate the application computational methods in industrial engineering. Industrial engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with the optimization of complex processes or systems. It is concerned with the development, improvement, and implementation of integrated systems of people, money, knowledge, information, equipment, energy, materials, analysis and synthesis, as well as the mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems or processes. Industrial engineering cuts across all industries including health, finance, manufacturing, textile, motor industries and all other industries.Industrial engineers are people who try to figure out how to do things better. Engineering jobs are about solving problems and making things better. Engineers apply their skills to design, develop, build, maintain, and improve products and services. Industrial engineers work at improving efficiencies by eliminating wasteful activities that cost businesses time and money. Environmental engineers work to improve the environment. They work to reduce or eliminate causes of air, water and land pollution. They engineer processes and systems that improve quality and productivity. Industrial engineers make significant contributions to their employers by saving money while making the workplace better for fellow workers. In addition to manufacturing, industrial engineers apply their skills in a variety of settings. In their effort to make things better, Industrial engineers apply computational methods such as algorithm, Monte Carlo, piecewise linear and many more. In this study, we will focus on the three as stated above and how they are applied in different industries including detergent manufacturing industries, elevator industries, radiotherapy, computer engineering, spare parts companies, thermodynamic industries and other companies.
