This project focuses on the mutual benefits of closer links between Geographic Information System and the tools for loading spatial data.We are interested in plotting map polygons using the following libraries: sp, maps and maptools .Generally we will draw illustrate how to draw maps of different countries with their their respective areas. The three libraries are related in the following way: sp will be used to classify spatial data, maptools will be used for reading and handling data and finally we will use maps to draw map polygons of given geographical data. In addition, we will single out the importance of these libraries and how they are applied in day to day life. In general statistics involving geographical features such as oceans are everywhere and such libraries enable researchers to work on their research problem using such libraries.
